Located in the suburban city of Dublin, within the ever-growing East Bay area, Imagine Playground reopened to the public back in March 2020 as the region's first all abilities playground. Our main attraction for this project is this CombiNation of a Geoball and a SpooRoo, which has been described as a real play circus.
Inclusivity was the main goal in designing this Dublin play space, keeping in mind the need for a play area for kids of all ages and abilities. There's a large opening on one side of the equipment that allows people in wheelchairs to be able to move freely inside the structure.
This network of nets is surrounded by the ring of hammocks, hand-over-hand loop ropes and climbing ropes. This large structure allows for free play climbing on the outside as well as use of the other accessories on the inside.
The net funnel in the middle leading to the opening at the top of the structure is a young climber's dream.
For our two to five age group, we have our SpooRoo Combi.03. With some minor modifications, this design is perfect for smaller kiddos. It includes a small ramp along with our HDPE stepping pods that lead to a suspension bridge connecting our Spoo to the Roo.
One of our larger installations on this project is the Shout. There's even a Tic Tac Toe activity panel that is set at a lower level so anyone can use.
With custom additions like flubber hammocks, a banister and low to the ground ladders, there's something for everyone with this piece!
Our smallest addition to this park is definitely the biggest winner as far as inclusivity is concerned. Our Cloud 9 swing is for kids and kids at heart of any age. This accessible swing allows children and adults with special needs to enjoy it with other children or even a care taker.
Take a quick ride on the Cloud 9 on your way to the net climber.
